The other day I went to get my hair cut at a new place in town and the stylist refused to give me a style that Lynette and I have taken to calling “the Farq.”

If you’ve spent time on cool girl TikTok/Instagram recently (to no one’s surprise, I’m finally, slowly getting into TikTok now), you’ll know exactly what I mean. It’s Lucia’s hair from The White Lotus, the trendy #FrenchBob, which *I* think looks superchic. Lynette thinks it would make me look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek.

She’s not alone in disliking the Farq. A friend who knew I’ve recently become bob-curious sent me a TikTok earlier this week in which emmystayfly warns in a voiceover while the White Lotus finale plays that the beautiful Simona Tabasco, who plays Lucia, “may make you think you can pull off this hairstyle, this bob — but I’m here to let you know, before you try to cut your hair, don’t do it.” One top comment assents, adding “it’d be berries and cream” all over again.

Honestly, both a slay

They’re all haters!!!! I love this haircut. And I’ve been craving a big change for awhile now. Anything to make me feel something in the midst of this dreary British winter.
